Natural dye class

A few weeks ago, a couple of us had the pleasure of going out to Merrie Mill Farm in Keswick, VA to attend a natural dye class lead by Pat Brodowski. We brought pre-spun wool that the farm workstation made, and dyed our fibers using osage orange, indigo, and logwood! The dyes were pre-made, so we learned how long to keep them in, what mordants were used to get the most out of the pigment, and how long to keep the fibers in to get the colors we wanted. We came out with some very beautiful results that we’re looking forward to showing off at Family Day this year!
